Job summary

Per Sé Group is seeking an experienced Project Manager – Power Generation Capital Projects & Outage Execution to support a major modernization program at a Texas power generating facility. The role requires coordinating multiple contractors, managing outages, and delivering on schedule and budget during critical plant work.

This long-term assignment begins with part-time planning and engineering and transitions to full-time support as outages approach, with travel to site as needed.

Qualifications

• Experience managing capital improvement or modernization projects in operating power plants.
• Strong understanding of fossil-fueled plant systems, operations, and maintenance.
• Proven experience planning and executing capital projects during outages.
• Ability to coordinate mechanical, electrical, controls, and construction activities across multiple contractors and stakeholders.
• Strong project scheduling, procurement coordination, risk management, and problem-solving capabilities.
• Experience overseeing engineering firms, OEMs, equipment suppliers, and installation contractors.
• Excellent communication, organizational, and leadership skills, with the ability to work independently and drive project accountability.
• Flexibility to travel and work extended schedules during major outage execution.

Responsibilities

• Manage capital improvement projects from engineering through turnover.
• Develop and maintain integrated project schedules, tracking milestones, deliverables, budgets, and execution risks.
• Coordinating multiple engineering firms, OEMs, equipment suppliers, contractors, and plant operations personnel.
• Supporting major plant control system upgrades, including DCS and burner management system (BMS) modernization.
• Coordinating mechanical improvement projects involving fuel gas piping and valves, boiler auxiliary equipment, and bottom ash handling systems.
• Managing engineering reviews, procurement activities, factory acceptance testing, contractor readiness, and construction planning.
• Integrating multiple project scopes into scheduled plant outages, ensuring materials, contractors, and engineering deliverables are ready for execution.
• Providing onsite project management during outages, resolving execution challenges, monitoring progress, and coordinating commissioning and turnover.
