Project Manager – Power Generation Operations
Our client is seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead the execution, installation, commissioning, and operational handoff of power generation projects. This role serves as the primary liaison between operations, engineering, maintenance, customers, vendors, and contractors to ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, and within budget.
The ideal candidate combines a strong technical background in power generation with proven project management experience and the ability to lead complex projects involving multiple stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage projects from planning through startup and operational handoff.
- Coordinate internal teams, customers, vendors, and contractors throughout project execution.
- Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, resource plans, and milestones.
- Lead project meetings, track action items, and communicate status updates.
- Monitor risks, identify potential delays, and implement mitigation plans.
- Manage purchase orders and support project-related procurement activities.
- Drive continuous improvement of project processes and operational playbooks.
- Support projects involving fixed and mobile power generation assets, customer-owned equipment, and distributed energy systems.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, or related field, or equivalent military experience.
- PMP certification or comparable project management experience preferred.
- 10+ years of experience in power generation, energy, utility operations, engineering, maintenance, oil & gas.
- Experience managing complex power generation projects with multiple stakeholders.
- Strong customer-facing, communication, and leadership skills.Ability to influence cross-functional teams without direct authority.
Preferred Experience
- Mechanical or Electrical Engineering background.
- Experience with gas turbines, microgrids, distributed energy systems, and mobile power generation.
- Knowledge of regulatory and compliance requirements within power generation.
- Experience supporting customer-owned, leased, and company-owned generation assets.
- Background in operations leadership, field engineering, commissioning, MEP, or construction management.
