Job summary

KBR, Inc is seeking a Machinery Maintenance Mechanic (Contingency) to support TACOM requirements, maintaining and repairing power generation and electrical/mechanical systems. This role emphasizes safe operation, diagnostics, and documentation in a demanding defense environment.

The position is contingent upon award and may require shifts, travel, and security clearance. The successful candidate will read schematics, use diagnostic tools, and ensure equipment readiness for Army missions.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; supplemental technical or vocational training preferred.
• Typically 3-5 years of experience maintaining or repairing power generation or electrical/mechanical systems.
• Ability to obtain or maintain a U.S. Government security clearance (as required) and U.S. citizenship.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on power generation equipment.
• Diagnose mechanical and electrical faults in power systems.
• Repair or replace engines, alternators, control systems, wiring, and related components.
• Load testing and functional verification of generators and power systems.
• Read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and wiring diagrams.
• Use diagnostic tools and test equipment to troubleshoot system issues.
• Maintain maintenance records and documentation.
• Ensure safety, environmental, and quality standards and follow PPE/LOTO.
• Maintain a clean, organized, safe work environment.
• Coordinate with supervisors and maintenance personnel regarding system status and repairs.
