Job summary

Meriton Energy Partners in Houston, TX (Remote within the U.S.) seeks a Principal Electrical Engineer to lead the electrical design for gas turbine generation and BESS projects. The role spans development, detailed engineering, construction, commissioning and operation across multiple sites.

Senior and Principal level candidates are welcome; the Principal role serves as a technical authority, mentoring engineers and guiding project delivery while the Senior level focuses on engineering scope and

Qualifications

Degree in Electrical Engineering or closely related discipline.
Significant experience in power generation or heavy industrial electrical engineering.
Direct experience with gas turbines, gas-fired plants, and BESS.

Responsibilities

Lead electrical engineering scope across gas-fired generation and BESS projects.
Develop and review single-line diagrams, system architecture and design packages.
Specify and review MV/LV switchgear, transformers, MCCs, generators and protection systems.
Support integration of gas turbine generation, BESS and site electrical infrastructure.
Perform or review load flow, short circuit, protection coordination and arc-flash studies.
Review OEM, EPC and vendor engineering documentation and provide technical guidance.
Collaborate with mechanical, controls, commissioning and operations teams.
