Job summary

Actalent seeks a Validation Technician in Wauwatosa, WI to support testing, validation, certification, and continuous improvement of advanced power conversion and industrial control products. You’ll execute engineering validation plans, perform environmental and reliability tests, and build test fixtures to enable engineers to focus on design.

You will work with high-voltage AC/DC systems, instrument data, and safety procedures, documenting results for certification agencies and product teams.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Electrical Engineering Technology or related field.
• Minimum 25 years of relevant laboratory, test, validation, or power electronics experience.
• Experience with three-phase AC systems up to 690 Vac and DC bus up to 2000 Vdc.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and test procedures.
• Knowledge of UL/IEC standards and safety requirements.

Responsibilities

• Execute validation and qualification test plans on power electronics products and control systems.
• Conduct regulatory compliance testing and support product certification efforts.
• Configure, operate, and troubleshoot test setups for electrical, thermal, environmental, and safety testing.
• Build and improve test fixtures, instrumentation setups, and automated procedures.
• Analyze test data and prepare reports for stakeholders and certification bodies.
• Support root cause investigations and improve design robustness.
• Maintain calibration and proper operation of lab equipment.
• Ensure compliance with UL/IEC/ISO standards in testing activities.
• Coordinate with panel shop for fixture and panel builds.
