Job summary

Actalent is seeking a Test Lab Manager – Power Electronics Validation, Verification & Reliability Engineer to lead the validation lifecycle for industrial drives and energy platforms. You will define validation strategy, own the lab, and collaborate with design, compliance, manufacturing and quality teams to deliver robust, field‑proved products.

The role requires deep technical expertise, hands‑on lab leadership, and experience with DFMEA, DVP, HALT/HASS, and reliability testing.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field; Master’s preferred.
• Experience validating power electronics products and leading lab activities.
• Experience with DFMEA, DVP, HALT/HASS and environmental testing.
• Strong data analysis, test documentation, and reporting skills.
• Ability to supervise technicians and manage a test lab.

Responsibilities

• Own the validation plan for power electronics products from subsystem to full system.
• Lead DFMEA workshops and translate risk into validation tests and mitigation.
• Establish verification traceability linking requirements to tests and acceptance criteria.
• Define acceptance criteria, measurement budgets, and statistical confidence levels.
• Design, set up, and execute qualification tests (electrical, thermal, environmental).
• Perform thermal validation, including junction temperature and thermal imaging.
• Coordinate external labs for high‑voltage or specialized tests.
• Plan reliability tests (HALT/HASS, accelerated life) for long‑term performance.
• Conduct dielectric and safety testing per UL/IEC requirements.
• Validate fieldbus protocols and firmware regression with testing.
• Analyze data, document failures, and drive root cause analyses.
• Prepare validation reports for submissions and design history files.
• Develop and manage the product validation lab and equipment roadmap.
• Collaborate with design, compliance, manufacturing, and QA teams.
• Mentor test technicians and maintain lab safety programs.
