Job summary
National Renewable Energy Laboratory in Boulder, CO invites an Undergraduate (Fixed term) Intern in Electrical Engineering to join the Water Power Technology Validation group, focusing on marine energy technologies.
The intern will assist in developing simulations for power electronic converter topologies, perform component sizing calculations, and implement control methods for power capture and conditioning, with exposure to MATLAB/Simulink and hardware-in-the-loop tools.
Qualifications
- Currently pursuing a masters degree or PhD in power electronics or power systems.
- Some experience with MATLAB and MATLAB/Simulink or relevant real-time simulation software.
- Fundamental knowledge of power electronics design or electric drivetrain technology.
- Fundamental knowledge of typical control methods and implementation thereof.
- Hardware-in-the-loop experience (Typhoon HIL, RTDS) would be advantageous.
