Job summary

GE Vernova is seeking a Power Conversion Co-op/Intern Engineer to contribute to naval, marine, industrial, and oil & gas power converter projects. You will help design, model, and test power electronics systems, and gain exposure to software, control specifications, and automation hardware drawings.

The internship is open to students in accredited engineering programs, with a focus on electrical, mechanical, or computer engineering, and requires US work eligibility.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in an engineering program with a focus on electrical, mechanical, computer or related disciplines.
• Proficiency in coding and basic software development concepts.
• Experience with MATLAB or similar tools (Python, C++).
• Familiarity with CAD/CAE tools such as AutoCAD, ANSYS or CREO.

Responsibilities

• Create and review technical specs for power converters meeting customer requirements.
• Develop base software package with libraries and test reports for project use.
• Learn engineering artifacts including software specs, control drawings and test procedures.
• Model power electronic controls for power quality and stability studies.
• Gain experience in HMI/control/process coding and project software design.
• Assist in developing test plans and model improvements for the electrical plant.
• Contribute to power converter software design for various projects.
• Understand power converter software and hardware drawings to meet customer needs.
