Job summary

GE Vernova is seeking an engineering intern for the Power Conversion team in Findlay Township. You will contribute to electrical power conversion systems for Naval, marine, and industrial applications, helping with MV/LV converters, motors, transformers, and control software.

You will learn software specifications, control design, and test procedures while gaining experience in CAD/CAE tools and power electronics concepts in a collaborative environment.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in an engineering program at an accredited university; Electrical/Mechanical/Computer Engineering or similar discipline.
• Ability to work in the United States without sponsorship for an extended period.
• Familiar with coding and programming tools; MATLAB/Python/C++.
• Experience with MATLAB code or similar software (Python, C++, etc).
• Experience with modeling tools such as AutoCAD, ANSYS/CREO.

Responsibilities

• Ensure designs comply with safety, quality, and value standards.
• Prepare/review detailed technical specifications for control of large power converters.
• Develop the base software package for typical project configurations.
• Document engineering artifacts: software specifications, control drawings, test procedures.
• Create models of power electronic controls for power quality and stability studies.
• Learn HMI/Control/Process coding and test plan development.
• Use offline and real-time models of the electrical power plant for improvements.
• Manage software design processes for power converters on projects.
