Job summary

Heron Power Inc. in Scotts Valley, CA is seeking a skilled manufacturing technician to drive engineering builds and early manufacturing scale-up of complex power electronics assemblies.

You will collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, operations and equipment teams to establish repeatable processes, execute and track unit builds, and support product launch development through all phases of the engineering lifecycle.

Qualifications

• 3+ years in manufacturing, fabrication, or industrial assembly with hands-on rigging.
• Forklift certification; onsite certification available.
• Demonstrated overhead crane and hoist experience with loads above 500 lb.
• Able to read mechanical drawings, weldment prints, and BOMs.
• Confident with hand and power tools, torque wrenches, and layout/measuring tools.
• Able to lift 50 lb, work from ladders, and stand for a full shift.
• Clear communication and standard crane hand signals.

Responsibilities

• Rig and move large enclosures and sub-assemblies using crane and hoists.
• Select, inspect, and rig hardware for lifts; check WLs and sling angles.
• Identify center of gravity and pick points with spotter.
• Operate sit-down forklift to stage cabinet frames and hardware.
• Build and square cabinet structures on rolling fixtures.
• Torque fasteners and verify squareness; document handoff.
• Perform daily pre-use inspection of slings, hooks, hoists, forklift.
• Work from mechanical drawings and BOMs; redline and feedback errors.
• Help build assembly fixtures and lift aids as scale grows.
• Keep rigging gear staged, inspected, organized.
