Job summary

onsemi is seeking a Field Applications Systems Engineer to provide technical support for strategic customers in the San Francisco Bay Area, focusing on power electronics and WBG technologies such as SiC and GaN. You will work with engineering teams to evaluate, design, and implement onsemi solutions across energy, industrial power, renewables, and AI power delivery.

The role requires 8+ years of related experience with a Bachelor's degree (or 6+ with a Master’s), strong problem-solving, and

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or related technical discipline.
Experience in Applications Engineering, Field Applications Engineering, Power Electronics Design or similar.
Knowledge of SiC, GaN, MOSFETs, IGBTs, Gate Drivers and Power ICs.

Responsibilities

Provide technical support for strategic customer programs from evaluation through production.
Assist with device selection, design reviews, validation, troubleshooting, and issue resolution.
Support adoption of SiC, GaN, power devices and related products with customers.
Participate in customer meetings, technical reviews, and product demonstrations.
Create technical presentations and system block diagrams for engagements.
Document findings and customer activities for internal teams.
Stay current on power electronics and emerging WBG applications.
