Job summary

Raytheon is seeking junior to mid-level engineers with power electronics knowledge to design robust power systems. The team develops Telemetry and Flight Termination products with power systems from 10kW down to low voltages, in a onsite Tucson setting. Active DoD Secret clearance is required.

The position emphasizes design and analysis of power conversion circuits, collaboration with layout teams, and presenting results to leadership. Strong MATLAB/ECAD skills are valued.

Qualifications

• Requires a bachelor’s degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and 2 years of prior relevant experience or an advanced STEM degree.
• Design, analysis, test, and/or simulation experience with non-isolated converter topologies: buck, boost, buck-boost.
• Experience with analog electronics design: FETs/BJTs, op-amp, filters, data termination, and comparators.

Responsibilities

• Design, analyze, simulate, test, and document power conversion circuitry, including switch mode and linear converters for board-mounted end use.
• Guide circuit card development from requirements to initial integration testing.
• Define schedules for circuit-level tasking and drive to meet them.
• Mentor ECAD drafters through layout and routing, assist in layer stackup.
• Operate as an individual contributor and engage in small-team growth and presentation of work.
