Job summary

Raytheon's Hardware Electrical Engineering Team in Tucson, AZ is seeking mid-career engineers with strong electronics knowledge to design and test power electronics and motor control systems for defense applications. The role emphasizes circuit cards, power end use, and collaboration with ECAD drafters.

Candidates should have a STEM degree and substantial experience; DoD secret clearance is required or ability to obtain interim clearance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in STEM with 8+ years of experience or advanced degree with 5+ years.
• Design, analysis, test and/or simulation with motor types such as brushed, BLDC or PMSM.
• Experience with MATLAB or similar tools; analog electronics design experience.
• Lab experience with oscilloscopes, DMMs, frequency generators, power supplies and DAQ systems.
• Familiarity with SiC/GaN in power electronics; design for voltages >400V and power >10kW.

Responsibilities

• Design, analyze, simulate, test and document power conversion circuitry.
• Lead circuit card development from requirements to integration testing.
• Define schedules for circuit-level tasks and guide layout via ECAD.
• Lead small teams as SME on Controls Hardware Electronics.
