Delta Electronics Americas Ltd (Power Electronics Laboratory) in Research Triangle Park, NC, is seeking a power electronics R&D engineer to develop high power density, high-efficiency converters for data centers, servers, and telecom.

You will work on two-level and multilevel PFC, DAB and resonant DC-DC topologies, single-stage AC-DC designs, and explore GaN/SiC devices, with hands-on PCB layout and thermal management, plus simulations in MATLAB/Simulink and PSIM/PLECS.

Qualifications

  • MS/PhD in EE with 5+ years in power electronics.
  • Experience in high efficiency, high power density designs.
  • Knowledge of two-level/Multilevel PFC topologies (hard/soft switching).
  • Expertise in DAB and resonant DC-DC topologies.
  • Experience with wide bandgap devices (SiC, GaN).
  • Familiarity with bidirectional devices (bi-GaN/bi-SiC).

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop high power density, high efficiency converters for datacenter/server/telecom.
  • Research and implement two-level and multilevel PFC topologies (hard/soft switching).
  • Develop and optimize DAB and resonant DC-DC topologies.
  • Work on single-stage AC-DC topologies (resonant and DAB).
  • Explore bidirectional devices (bi-GaN/bi-SiC) and Vienna rectifiers.
  • Design magnetics with high power density; perform testing.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams for integration.
  • Conduct simulations (PSIM, PLECS, Simulink) and prototype testing.
