Job summary

CFD Research Corporation seeks a highly capable Electrical Engineer with deep expertise in power electronics, schematic capture, PCB layout, and EMC. You will design high-performance, rugged electronic systems for military and aerospace applications in a fast-paced R&D environment.

The ideal candidate will integrate hardware and firmware, use advanced simulation, and produce robust designs for mission-critical applications. Roles are onsite in Dayton, OH or Huntsville, AL with ESOP/benefits.

Qualifications

• BS in Electrical Engineering is required.
• Experience with power electronics, converter topologies, switching devices, magnetics, and control techniques.
• Experience with schematic capture and PCB layout using CAD tools.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design, development, and validation of advanced power electronic circuits and subsystems.
• Perform schematic capture and oversee PCB layout using industry standard ECAD tools.
• Utilize SPICE-based simulators for circuit analysis and optimization.
• Apply EMI/ESD mitigation strategies to meet MIL and aerospace requirements.
• Support qualification and compliance efforts to aerospace and military standards including AS9100, MIL STD 461, 464, 810, 704.
• Generate design documentation and review packages; conduct design reviews and prototype testing.
• Collaborate with mechanical teams; occasional SolidWorks usage for enclosure integration.
