Job summary

CFD Research Corporation seeks a capable Electrical Engineer to design embedded hardware for aerospace and military systems. The role emphasizes microcontroller-based circuits, high-speed interfaces, and robust PCB layouts to meet AS9100 and MIL-STD requirements.

The successful candidate will collaborate with firmware teams, support prototype builds, and partake in design reviews. Onsite positions in Dayton, Huntsville, or Hollywood locations are available.

Qualifications

• BS in Electrical Engineering required.
• Experience with embedded hardware design for aerospace/military environments.
• Design of multilayer PCBs with signal integrity and EMI/ESD considerations.
• Proficiency in schematic capture and PCB layout tools (Altium, Mentor, KiCad).
• US citizen with ability to obtain/maintain security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design and development of embedded circuits based on MCUs/MCU families.
• Architect and implement high/low speed communication interfaces (SPI, I2C, UART, CAN, RS-485, Ethernet, USB).
• Guide multilayer PCB layout to ensure signal integrity and manufacturability.
• Use SPICE-based tools for circuit simulation and validation.
• Support AS9100, MIL STD 461/464/810/704 compliance and design reviews.
