Job summary

GE Vernova, Inc. is seeking a Power Conversion co-op/intern to contribute to electrical power conversion systems for Naval, industry, marine, and Oil & Gas applications.

You will work on MV/LV converters, motors, transformers, E-house, switchgear, and related power systems engineering. You will learn to develop software, control specifications, and engineering artifacts, while gaining exposure to engineering drawings and commissioning procedures.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3.0 GPA (without rounding).
• Currently enrolled in an engineering school with a specialty in Electrical, Mechanical, Computer Engineering or similar.
• Ability to work in the United States without sponsorship for an unlimited amount of time.

Responsibilities

• Ensure designs emphasize safety, quality and value.
• Prepare/review technical specs for control of large power converters.
• Develop the base software package for project configuration.
• Learn engineering artifacts: specifications, software, control drawings and test procedures.
• Model power electronic controls for power quality and stability studies.
• Learn HMI/Control/Process coding and test planning.
• Use offline and real-time models for power electronics plants.
• Manage software design processes for power converters.
