Job summary

FirstEnergy Corp is seeking an engineer to ensure reliability of Pennsylvania's distribution system. The role involves analyzing electrical systems, developing long-range improvement plans, and presenting regulatory reports.

Based in State College, PA, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams, support storm operations, and travel across the service territory as needed. A PE license and ABET-accredited degree are preferred, with strong analytical and communication skills essential.

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited B.S. in Engineering is required or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license is a plus or acceptable alternative with advanced degree.
• Knowledge of electrical systems, operations, and maintenance practices, switching and tagging, and familiarity with NEC/NESC is desired.

Responsibilities

• Assess reliability of Pennsylvania distribution systems and improve performance.
• Develop and maintain long-range infrastructure plans (LTIIP) and reliability targets.
• Prepare and present reliability and regulatory reports.
• Support storm operations and travel as needed.
• Coordinate with Distribution Control Center to ensure safe, efficient operation.
