Want to work hands-on with switchgear and the instruments that prove they’re safe and ready for service?Your impactValidate low and medium voltage switchgear performance through structured electrical and mechanical testing.Operate AC dielectric testers, AC/DC power supplies, oscilloscopes, multimeters, current sources, and electronic loads.Translate drawings, codes, schematics, manuals, blueprints, and procedures into accurate configurations and test connections.Set up and verify point-to-point wiring, test subassemblies, and confirm cell configurations using basic electro-mechanical theory.Assemble and install components, units, wiring, and casings using rivets, bolts, and connectors.Support layout, assembly, and light fabrication across mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic/hydraulic systems.How we’ll support youGeneral direction with close supervision on new assignments.Initial training status with quality and accuracy checks on all work.Increasing independence as you gain experience.Where you’ll be and who you’ll work withBased at our New Stanton, PA facility, you will report to the Assistant Area Manager, Mechanical Product.What we’re looking forHigh School Diploma or equivalent.0–2 years of related experience (electrical, mechanical, machining, or inspection).Knowledge of electrical/mechanical drawings, assembly practices, and wiring methods.Comfort with electrical equipment, painting techniques, and hand/power tools.Demonstrated proficiency in Hi-Pot (High Potential) / High Voltage testing.Bonus: exposure to the nuclear industry.Why this roleIf you’re detail-oriented, procedure-driven, and eager to learn, this role offers a clear path to mastering switchgear testing and growing your decision-making authority over time.
