Job summary

HKA Enterprises seeks a Designer III (DT III) to design utility systems, including overhead and underground circuits for joint use, lighting, and development projects. This role combines office work with field data collection and storm restoration support.

You will produce high-quality CAD drawings and material lists, support more complex tasks, and communicate with clients and construction crews, with independence and mentorship as you progress.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent plus 4 years of relevant work experience.
• Associate's degree plus 3 years of relevant work experience.
• Valid driver's license.
• Must pass pre-employment drug screening and background check.
• Motor vehicle checks may be required based on position.

Responsibilities

• Independently perform field data collection and project-specific inspections for moderately complex projects.
• Produce high-quality CAD drawings and material lists for simple projects.
• Provide support required by supervision for more complex tasks.
• Ensure all necessary project communications are documented as required by training.
• Provide guidance and training to peers and newer designers on simple projects.
• Independently produce permitting documentation as needed.
• Communicate with clients and participate in site meetings with oversight.
• Work independently, under supervision for mentorship, guidance, and training.
