Job summary

WSP USA in Baton Rouge, LA is seeking a Full-Time Power Distribution Design Engineering Intern to gain hands-on experience in medium-voltage distribution design, including overhead and underground systems from 120/240V to 24.9kV. The internship is part of our Summer Internship Program and targets undergrad or graduate students.

The 12-week program starts May 17, 2027, with mentorship from senior staff, exposure to real projects, and opportunities to contribute to drawings, calculations, cost

Qualifications

• Actively enrolled in an Electrical Engineering program with anticipated graduation August 2027 or later.
• Must be 18 years or older and authorized to work in the United States.
• Interest in electrical engineering and desire to grow skills relevant to WSP projects.
• Basic proficiency with technical writing, office software, and general tools.

Responsibilities

• Support engineering tasks to develop technical skills and professional aptitude.
• Learn principles of Power Distribution Engineering through hands-on work.
• Assist with project research, field work, and preliminary design calculations.
• Help prepare final design plans, provisions, and cost estimates, and maintain docs.
