Job summary

WSP USA invites engineering students to join its Summer Internship Program as a Transmission Engineering Intern in Mount Laurel, NJ. The role targets undergrad or grad students in ABET‑accredited programs, with a 10–12 week window starting May 17, 2027.

No relocation assistance is provided. The internship offers exposure to real projects alongside senior staff, mentorship through the Developing Professionals Network, and opportunities to gain hands‑on experience in power delivery and engineering

Qualifications

• Actively enrolled in an ABET-accredited Civil or Mechanical Engineering program with anticipated graduation August 2027 or later.
• Must be 18 or older.
• Demonstrated interest in Civil and Mechanical Engineering, and a strong desire to advance skills related to WSP's projects.
• Competent interpersonal and communication skills when interacting with others, expressing ideas effectively and professionally to diverse audiences.
• Capable of taking direction from leadership, mentors, and managers to execute projects.
• Basic proficiency with technical writing, office software, spreadsheets, and related tools.

Responsibilities

• Support a variety of engineering tasks to develop technical, social, and ethical skills.
• Learn basic principles of Civil and Mechanical Engineering.
• Assist with project research, field work, and preliminary design calculations and analysis.
• Support preparation of final design plans, special provisions, and cost estimates.
• Assist in collecting and maintaining project documentation.
• Complete training on assigned tasks and adhere to WSP's Code of Conduct and policies.
• Perform additional responsibilities as required by business needs.
