Job summary

Leidos Engineering, based in the United States, seeks experienced Project Managers to join our Strategic Program Consulting team within Power Delivery Solutions. You will support a large electric utility client and work with a diverse team across capital transmission/substation projects in the Kentucky area.

The role offers remote work capabilities with periodic travel to client sites in Kentucky, Louisville, and Lexington.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Business, Finance, or related field.
• A minimum of 4+ years of progressive Project Management experience within the Electric Utility Industry; experience at an electric utility preferred.
• Demonstrated experience working with US Electric Utilities and understanding of electric power and infrastructure projects.
• Direct experience working with electric power infrastructure projects.
• Strong leadership skills with a focus on portfolio management and team development.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Ability to travel periodically as required.
• Proficiency utilizing Primavera P6 or MS Project with a heavy emphasis on Microsoft Excel.

Responsibilities

• Lead electric utility project execution teams to deliver capital transmission substation projects.
• Take ownership of overall portfolio performance (cost, schedule, scope).
• Interface with clients and stakeholders to address issues and report progress.
• Mentor and develop project management staff to foster collaboration and learning.
• Manage monthly client invoicing, accruals, and accounts receivable processes.
• Identify and pursue business development opportunities to support growth.
• Ensure compliance with contract requirements and quality standards.
• Maintain regular communication with stakeholders across project portfolio.
• Identify project risks and mitigation strategies.
