Overview

Kimley-Horn's Orlando, FL office is seeking a Power Delivery Project Manager to join our diverse and fast-paced organization. This position will manage Transmission and Distribution related projects or programs and provide project management services to manage and monitor the engineering design, quality of deliverables, procurement, schedule, and budget of engineering design projects. Specific areas of responsibilities are provided below. This is not a remote position.

Responsibilities
  • Oversight of planning, design, engineering, and execution of all project deliverables across multiple simultaneous workstreams in support of Project(s) or Program(s)
  • Coordinate work effort between all dependent departments, groups, teams, and tasks
  • Manage design requests, drawing progress, environmental, jurisdictional, regulatory, and other support tasks to ensure timely execution of activities through solution acceptance by stakeholders
  • Execute planning, status, and ad-hoc meetings as required; supply meeting minutes and track and communicate risks and issues and execute mitigating steps, as necessary
  • Provide advice and recommendations on the following: the effective execution of the teams to meet project scope requirements while considering budget requirements, recommendations regarding various delivery methods suitable for the project or program, optimal project scheduling options, enhanced design, and construction quality, and optimum flexibility in contracting and procurement options
  • Analyzes data and user needs to determine functional and cross-functional requirements
  • Provides management oversight across multiple simultaneous projects or project tracts within a Project or Program
  • Operates in a business and technical environment, using analytical Earned Value Metrics and evaluative techniques
  • Performs scenario development, feasibility studies, and cost-benefit analyses
  • Monitor and coordinate the schedule, technical accuracy, efficiency, coordination, and constructability of the program and cost-effectiveness of all designs, drawings, reports, estimates, and other work as required
  • Manages and builds client relationships and trust through effective project execution and interaction
  • Administer and manage contracts, purchase orders, and sub-contract agreements with oversight from internal executive leadership
  • Proposal development, contract negotiations, project planning, design team coordination & communication, budgeting, schedule management, and client coordination
  • Promote a safety-first culture
Qualifications
  • B.S. in Engineering, Business Management, or equivalent field from an accredited curriculum
  • Project Management Professional (PMP), Agile or other Program Management certifications, training, and/or demonstrated experience
  • Minimum of 7 years of specialized experience in Power/Utility and related disciplines, including 3 or more years managing Transmission and Distribution projects
  • Proven aptitude and demonstrated experience for high-volume, multi-discipline projects
  • Must be capable of exercising discretion and independent judgment in the application of Transmission and Distribution Engineering
  • Proven leader and coach in simultaneous projects and programs demonstrated communication skills - verbal, written, and in a presentation format with the ability to motivate and lead a team to success
  • Demonstrated results in managing projects, which include proposal development, contract negotiations, project planning, design team coordination & communication, budgeting, schedule management, and client coordination
  • Exemplary analytical cost management/cost control and risk management expertise including financial modeling, utilization of costing tools, and risk management processes
