About the Role

HDR Engineering is looking for a Power Delivery Project Manager to join our growing and nationally ranked team of Power Delivery professionals. The primary duties include planning, developing, executing, and closing out all aspects of Power Delivery projects of all sizes and complexity, including scope and proposal development, team assignment, execution, closeout, quality control, schedule and budget management. Projects may involve substations, system protection/planning, transmission lines, distribution lines and associated strategic services such as routing/siting, environmental permitting, right‑of‑way acquisition, and construction management.

Responsibilities
  • Apply basic project management tools and techniques: project life cycle, client goals, contract terms, risk, work breakdown structures, scope/schedule/budget, financial management, earned value, communication, change management, and project closeout.
  • Independent coordination of engineers and team members throughout the entire project life cycle.
  • Oversee non‑engineering components of projects, including public involvement, environmental permitting, right‑of‑way acquisition, construction management and other services.
  • Lead the QA/QC process and ensure world‑class quality.
  • Work independently, mentor, train and/or supervise one or more transmission APMs, Project Engineers and/or junior design staff.
  • Perform client management, project management and/or technical support activities.
  • Represent HDR in marketing and proposal development for new opportunities.
  • Travel for business development and execution may be required.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Professional Engineer (P.E.) license or Engineer in Training (EIT) with active commitment to obtain P.E.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or ability to obtain.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
  • 7 years of related experience.
  • Minimum of 2 years project management experience.
  • Ability to interact with various design teams and excellent organizational, project management and communication skills (written and verbal).
  • Commitment to participating in our employee‑owned culture.
