HDR seeks an experienced Power Delivery leader in Texas to manage substation projects, mentor teams, ensure quality, and grow client relationships while coordinating with regional colleagues and marketing for new opportunities. Houston region focus with multiple Texas locations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering.
• 7 years of related experience.
• Minimum 2 years of project management experience.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license.
• Experience with MS Office and MS Project; Access experience is a plus.
• Demonstrated leadership skills.

Responsibilities

• Establish the primary local Power Delivery relationship with one or more strategic clients, including overseeing project execution, driving quality and delivery, providing technical leadership, marketing new opportunities, and ensuring profitability.
• Manage and lead Power Delivery projects throughout the entire life cycle: scope/proposal development, team assembly and assignment, execution, closeout, quality control, scheduling, and budget management.
• Direct, mentor, train, or supervise Project Engineers, EITs, Designers, CADD Technicians, and administrative staff.
• Lead the QA/QC process on projects per HDR’s Quality Management Systems (QMS) requirements.
• Oversee non‑engineering components such as public involvement, environmental permitting, right‑of‑way acquisition, construction management, and other services when required.
• Build, develop and supervise a local Power Delivery team, overseeing workload, quality, utilization, morale, training, and annual performance reviews.
• Collaborate with staff across the region and nationally to balance workload, quality, utilization, morale, and training.
• Coordinate with marketing and technical leadership to support business development opportunities.
• Support, lead, and engage in broader business development activities for new opportunities with existing and target clients in the region.
• Travel for business development and project execution purposes when required.

Primary Responsibilities

• Establish the primary local Power Delivery relationship with one or more strategic clients, including overseeing project execution, driving quality and delivery, providing technical leadership, marketing new opportunities, and ensuring profitability.

• Work independently and/or direct, mentor, train, or supervise Project Engineers, EITs, Designers, CADD Technicians, and administrative staff.
• Lead the QA/QC process on projects per HDR’s Quality Management Systems (QMS) requirements.
• When required, oversee non‑engineering components such as public involvement, environmental permitting, right‑of‑way acquisition, construction management, and other services.
• Build, develop and supervise a local Power Delivery team, overseeing workload, quality, utilization, morale, training, and conducting annual performance reviews.
• Leverage existing staff across the company to execute work and deliver world‑class services to clients in the Texas region.
• Collaborate with team members across the region and nationally, balancing staff workload, quality, utilization, morale, and training.
• Establish a network of relationships with technical peers in other offices and leverage those relationships for work‑sharing opportunities.
• Coordinate with marketing and technical leadership to support business development opportunities.
• Support, lead, and engage in broader business development activities for new opportunities with existing and target clients in the region.
• Travel for business development and project execution purposes when required.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering.
