Job summary

WSP is seeking a Project Manager Area Lead- Power Delivery in Amarillo, TX. You will lead the local project management team to deliver on budgets, schedules, risk and quality, aligning with WSP practices.

The role requires 10+ years in PM within Power Delivery, with strong experience in leading mid-to-large electrical utility projects. Travel to client sites is expected, and collaboration with cross-functional teams is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field; PMP certification will be considered.
• 10+ years of post-education experience in a project management role within Power Delivery/Utility.
• Minimum of 5 years leading project teams for medium to large electrical utility scale projects.
• Minimum of 5 years experience leading project teams for medium to large electrical utility scale clients.
• Knowledge of contract, risk, change, schedule, and financial management; CPM Primavera P6 experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide PM leadership for distribution, substation, and transmission projects with budgets, forecasts, margins and KPIs.
• Support recruiting plans and address retention for staff.
• Oversee staff performance reviews and salary recommendations.
• Support PE to PM plans for internal transfers and new hires with mentoring for PMs.
• Develop strategies to engage stakeholders and report project progress to clients.
• Lead contract reviews, risk mitigation strategies, and pricing discussions as needed.
• Ensure technical QA/QC reviews and proper staffing for project reviews.
• Communicate with clients and internal teams, and provide guidance on risk and budget impacts.
• Prepare closeout activities and lessons-learned sessions.
• Be prepared to travel to client offices as needed, likely monthly.
