Job summary

Qualcomm Technologies, Inc. is seeking an experienced power electronics engineer to lead board-level power design, PMIC programming, and development of power-management solutions for a new machine learning inference product line.

The role covers specification, debug, and validation of power delivery ensuring performance and power metrics are met across development platforms. A Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering with 6+ years of relevant experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Engineering, or related field and 4+ years of Hardware Engineering or related work experience.
• Master's degree in Computer Science, Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Engineering, or related field and 3+ years of Hardware Engineering or related work experience.
• PhD in Computer Science, Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Engineering, or related field and 2+ years of Hardware Engineering or related work experience.

Responsibilities

• Requires expertise in power electronics, power management, and interfaces (e.g. DDR, PCIE, USB).
• Use MATLAB, SIMPLIS, Excel, and Mentor Graphics for design and simulations.
• Collaborate with power, system, board architecture teams to meet VAT power requirements.
• Provide schematic/layout guidance and conduct design reviews.
• Drive tests for SI/PI including impedance and transient analysis.
• Program PMIC to orchestrate system power-on/off sequences on development platforms.
• Develop board validation test plans pre/post-silicon and perform Bring-up with test equipment.
• Analyze test results, drive root-cause triage, and support SoC/software/firmware teams.
• Track technology trends and contribute to next-generation initiatives.
