Job summary

Vantage Consulting is seeking an experienced Controls Engineer (Power) in Spartanburg, SC for a hybrid role focused on developing, programming, testing, and commissioning control systems for power-distribution equipment.

You will design custom solutions, program PLCs and HMIs (Siemens TIA), read schematics, and support on-site startup while ensuring thorough documentation and adherence to customer requirements.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or higher in Electrical/Controls Engineering or related field.
• 5+ years in controls, automation, or electrical engineering.
• Strong PLC programming and industrial control experience (Siemens preferred).
• Ability to read and draft electrical schematics.
• Hands-on testing, commissioning, and troubleshooting of power systems.
• Knowledge of control logic and power-distribution equipment.
• Ability to translate customer specifications into practical controls solutions.

Responsibilities

• Design custom control solutions for power-distribution equipment.
• Program and configure PLCs, HMIs, and industrial controllers (Siemens TIA).
• Create and interpret control schematics and technical docs.
• Conduct electrical testing and document results.
• Troubleshoot control circuits and PLC/HMI issues.
• Support on-site startup, commissioning, and troubleshooting.
• Review project requirements, BOMs, and controls needs.
• Maintain project, testing, and engineering docs.
