Job summary

Goshen Engineering is seeking a Controls Engineer - Power to support development, programming, testing, troubleshooting, and startup of control systems for power-distribution equipment. The role is based in Spartanburg, SC and collaborates with engineering, production, quality, customers, and vendors.

Responsibilities include coding PLCs, configuring HMIs, creating schematics, and field support during commissioning and testing to ensure project success.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Controls Engineering, or related; experience may substitute.
• Five+ years of related controls, automation, electrical, or engineering experience.
• Experience with PLC programming and industrial control systems; Siemens experience is strongly applicable.

Responsibilities

• Develop and support control-system solutions for Goshen power-distribution equipment based on customer requirements and approved designs.
• Program and configure PLCs, HMIs, and other controllers used in power-distribution equipment.
• Create, modify, and interpret control schematics and related technical documentation.
• Perform electrical testing of power-distribution and control equipment; document results.
• Troubleshoot control circuits, PLC programs, HMIs, and related issues; implement corrections.
• Support equipment startup, commissioning, and field implementation activities.
• Collaborate with engineering, production, quality, and vendors to resolve issues.
• Review project requirements, drawings, and BOMs to identify controls requirements.
• Maintain accurate engineering, testing, project, and customer documentation.
• Provide technical communication and support to customers and internal teams.
• Support development and improvement of controls processes and standards.
• Assist in training less-experienced engineers.
