Job summary

FirstEnergy Service Company, a subsidiary of FirstEnergy Corp, is seeking a Business Analyst to join the Power Billing team in Akron, OH. The role supports development of billing tools and reports, ensures tariff compliance, and works on new programs like Community Solar.

You will analyze data, collaborate across Legal, Rates, IT, and Customer Support, lead projects, and translate business requirements into actionable solutions, with a strong focus on safety and customer service.

Qualifications

• Two or four year degree in a related discipline with minimum of 4 years relevant work experience required.
• In lieu of a degree, a minimum of 7 years relevant work experience is required.
• Knowledge of metering, tariffs, and/or billing of large Commercial and Industrial customers is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Ensure adherence to tariffs, regulatory, and SOx requirements.
• Design and implement solutions and controls to ensure accuracy and compliance.
• Research, review, and analyze the effectiveness and efficiency of existing tasks and recommend enhancements.
• Manage implementation of new programs or changes to existing programs.
• Discuss billing with support reps, customers, and third‑party representatives as subject matter expert.
• Represent Power Billing in meetings with internal teams and external peer utilities.
• Provide staff support to management and higher levels of professionals.
• Lead and/or support projects through testing or project management.
• Communicate changes and requirements to project managers and sponsors.
• Identify and analyze system issues to determine root causes and solutions.
