Job summary

Compunnel, Inc. seeks an experienced Power BI Developer to design, build, and optimize enterprise reporting solutions across SQL Server, Excel, and Alteryx. You will leverage Copilot for AI-assisted analytics, create data models, KPIs, and scalable dashboards that inform strategic decisions.

You will collaborate with data engineers and business stakeholders to translate requirements into robust BI solutions, implement data governance and security, and ensure timely data refresh and performance.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Power BI Developer with strong expertise in Microsoft Power BI, SQL Database, Excel, Microsoft Copilot, and Alteryx to design, develop, and optimize enterprise reporting and analytics solutions. The ideal candidate will transform complex business data into meaningful dashboards, reports, and actionable insights while leveraging modern AI-powered analytics capabilities through Microsoft Copilot and data preparation workflows using Alteryx. This role requires close collaboration with business stakeholders, data engineers, and analytics teams to deliver scalable reporting solutions that support strategic decision-making.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain interactive dashboards, reports, and scorecards using Microsoft Power BI.
• Create and optimize data models, KPIs, measures, and calculations using DAX and Power Query.
• Extract, transform, and load (ETL) data from multiple sources using Alteryx.
• Develop and optimize complex SQL queries, stored procedures, views, and database objects.
• Integrate data from SQL Server, Excel, SharePoint, APIs, cloud platforms, and enterprise applications.
• Leverage Microsoft Copilot to enhance reporting productivity, automate data analysis, generate insights, and streamline BI development processes.
• Create advanced Excel-based analytical models, reports, and data validation processes.
• Collaborate with business users to gather reporting requirements and translate them into scalable BI solutions.
• Implement data governance, security, row-level security (RLS), and data quality standards.
• Monitor report performance and troubleshoot data refresh, gateway, and performance issues.
• Develop reusable datasets, semantic models, and enterprise reporting frameworks.
• Provide analytical insights and recommendations to business stakeholders.
• Document BI solutions, data flows, and reporting standards.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Analytics, or a related field.
• 10+ years of experience in Power BI development and Business Intelligence.
• Strong hands-on experience with Power BI, SQL Database, Excel, and Alteryx.
• Experience creating enterprise dashboards and executive-level reporting solutions.
• Strong understanding of relational databases and data modeling concepts.
• Experience working with large datasets and complex business requirements.
• Knowledge of ETL processes and data integration methodologies.
• Strong SQL query development skills.
• Experience with stored procedures and database design.
• Knowledge of data warehousing concepts and performance tuning.
• Experience with dashboard development, KPI and metrics reporting, data visualization, Business Intelligence solutions, report automation, and data modeling.
• Excellent problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder management skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Microsoft Fabric, Azure Data Services, or Power Platform.
• Knowledge of AI-assisted analytics and reporting using Microsoft Copilot.
• Experience with Power Apps and Power Automate.
• PL-300 (Microsoft Power BI Data Analyst Associate) certification.
• Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.
