Job summary

Southern Company is seeking a Business Intelligence Analyst to transform complex infrastructure data into insights using Power BI and related analytics tools. The role collaborates with ISAC and IS teams to define reporting, improve data quality, and automate processes.

The ideal candidate will have 5+ years in analytics, 3+ years in Power BI development, strong SQL, data modeling, and AI/NLP familiarity. In-office schedule, with security screening as part of Insider Threat program.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Business Analytics, Engineering, Mathematics, or related field.
• 5+ years of experience in analytics, BI, reporting, or data analysis.
• 3+ years of advanced Power BI development experience.
• Proficiency in Power BI, DAX, Power Query, data modeling, SQL, and Excel.
• Experience with large, multi-source data sets and translating requirements into reporting solutions.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Familiarity with AI-enhanced data integration and NLP for unstructured data is a plus.
• Insider Threat certification is required.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain Power BI dashboards and reporting solutions.
• Deliver executive, operational, asset, risk, and performance reporting.
• Build scalable data models and semantic layers for multiple stakeholders.
• Develop KPI and metric reporting to tell the Infrastructure Services value story.
• Transform large data sets into meaningful, actionable insights.
• Partner with stakeholders to define reporting requirements and visualization approaches.
• Present findings and recommendations to leadership audiences.
• Support data quality, governance, and automated reporting improvements.
