Job summary

Southern Company seeks a Business Intelligence Analyst to design, develop, and maintain Power BI dashboards and reporting solutions that drive Infrastructure Services decisions. You will partner with ISAC, data owners, and stakeholders to define requirements and deliver scalable insights.

You will transform complex data into actionable metrics, create executive-level reports, and mentor peers while advancing data quality, governance, and automation initiatives across teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Business Analytics, Engineering, Mathematics, or related field.
• 5+ years of experience in analytics, business intelligence, reporting, or data analysis.
• 3+ years of advanced Power BI development experience.
• Expertise in Power BI, DAX, Power Query & M language, Data Modeling, SQL, Excel.
• Experience with large, complex data sets from multiple sources.
• Experience gathering business requirements and translating them into reporting solutions.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Experience delivering analytics to leadership audiences.
• Familiarity with AI techniques for predictive analytics and data integration.
• Knowledge of NLP for unstructured data analysis.
• Insider Threat certification required.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain Power BI dashboards and reporting solutions for Infrastructure Services.
• Deliver executive-level, operational, asset, risk, and performance reporting.
• Build scalable data models and semantic layers for multi-stakeholder reporting.
• Develop KPI and metric reporting to tell the Infrastructure Services value story.
• Transform large data sets into meaningful, actionable insights.
• Partner with leaders to understand reporting requirements and business objectives.
• Consult with stakeholders to define reporting solutions and visualization approaches.
• Present findings to leadership audiences.
• Assist with data quality issues and governance improvements.
• Reduce manual reporting through automation and process improvements.
• Support integration of new data sources and improve efficiency.
• Mentor analysts on Power BI capabilities and best practices.
• Contribute to Reporting Center of Excellence and maintain standards.
