Job summary

AMD in Austin, TX (and Markham, Ontario) is seeking a Systems Design Engineer - Power & AI to join the Client and Graphic System Architecture team. You will drive scalable, automated solutions, define products, develop system power models and contribute to advanced platform management features.

In this role you’ll work with multiple teams to validate and optimize features on schedule, using C/C++, Python, and lab tools, while shaping innovative architectures that move the world forward.

Qualifications

• Power analysis and optimization across platforms with performance tradeoffs.
• Ability to understand AI workloads at system level including memory, compute, power and UX.
• Platform validation, debugging and automation using scripts/tools.
• Strong programming/scripting in C/C++, Python, Perl or Ruby.
• Experience with lab equipment such as analyzers and oscilloscopes.

Responsibilities

• Drive technical innovation across product development and validation.
• Develop and automate System Power Modeling.
• Develop new Platform Management Framework feature sets.
• Coordinate with multiple teams to validate and optimize features on schedule.
• Engage with supporting technical teams and other software/hardware modeling frameworks.
• Lead collaborative approaches with cross-functional teams.
