Job summary

Royal Powder Corporation is seeking a Powder Coatings Chemist to join our technical team in the United States. The role focuses on formulation development, testing, raw material evaluation, and technical support to drive innovation in powder coatings for industrial and automotive markets.

The ideal candidate has 2+ years of formulation experience and strong laboratory skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, or a related scientific field.
• Minimum of 2 years of powder coating formulation experience.
• Total coatings industry experience of 2 to 7 years preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop, optimize, and modify powder coating formulations (epoxy, polyester, and hybrid systems).
• Support product scale-up activities from laboratory development through commercial production.
• Conduct performance testing including cure analysis, gloss, color evaluation, mechanical properties, and chemical resistance.
• Evaluate, qualify, and recommend raw materials (resins, pigments, additives).
• Troubleshoot formulation, manufacturing, processing, and application issues.
• Maintain accurate formulation records, test reports, and technical documentation.
• Collaborate with production, quality, and technical service teams to support customer requirements and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Assist with product development projects and technical investigations as needed.
