Education Requirements
  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent experience required.
  • Technical coursework, vocational training, or an associate degree in manufacturing, industrial technology, or a related field preferred.
Experience Requirements
  • 1+ years of experience in powder coating, industrial painting, metal finishing, or a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience preparing metal parts through cleaning, masking, plugging, and surface preparation processes.
  • Knowledge of powder coating equipment, spray booths, curing ovens, coating systems, and quality control procedures.
  • Ability to read work orders, blueprints, drawings, and production specifications.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with manual powder spray systems and automated coating equipment.
  • Strong understanding of coating thickness, finish quality, adhesion, and defect identification.
  • Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office.
  • Mechanical aptitude with the ability to troubleshoot coating equipment and process issues.
  • Strong attention to detail, communication skills, and commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
Physical Capabilities
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, reach, push, pull, and grasp throughout the shift.
  • Lift up to 25 pounds independently and heavier items with assistance.
  • Use hands and fingers for repetitive coating, assembly, and equipment operation tasks.
  • Visual acuity required to inspect coated parts and identify defects.
  • Ability to work in a manufacturing environment while wearing required PPE.
Job Duties
  • Prepare fabricated metal parts for powder coating by cleaning, masking, plugging, and performing surface preparation.
  • Operate powder coating equipment, manual spray guns, booths, ovens, and associated coating systems.
  • Apply powder coatings to meet finish, coverage, thickness, and appearance specifications.
  • Monitor equipment performance, process settings, oven temperatures, and cure times to ensure product quality.
  • Inspect coated parts for defects, adhesion, appearance, and compliance with customer and production requirements.
  • Perform basic equipment maintenance, adjustments, troubleshooting, and report process or equipment concerns.
  • Verify powder type, color, and work order requirements before processing parts.
  • Complete production documentation, support 5S/6S workplace organization initiatives, and follow all safety procedures.
  • Coordinate with Production and Quality teams to meet schedules and quality standards.
  • Operate hand and power tools and perform other duties as assigned.
