Job summary

VersaDesk in Compton, CA is seeking a Powder Paint Helper to support powder coat operations in a fast-paced manufacturing setting. You will prep parts, mask surfaces, and assist with curing and packaging to ensure quality finishes.

The role requires a HS diploma or GED, and bi-lingual English/Spanish communication. Expect physical work in an industrial environment with opportunities to learn coating and surface prep technologies.

Qualifications

• HS diploma or GED is required.
• Detail-oriented with ability to spot imperfections and apply precise masking.
• Bi-lingual (English/Spanish) for communication with a diverse team.

Responsibilities

• Part Preparation & Masking: apply masking plugs, caps, and high-temperature tape to threads, holes, and surfaces; wipe down parts with solvents or degreasers; operate pretreatment systems for proper powder adhesion.
• Production Line Operations: hang parts on overhead racks, unload finished parts after curing, inspect coated items for defects before packaging.
• Equipment & Shop Maintenance: clean powder booths and hoppers; monitor oven temperatures and line speeds; stock powder boxes and PPE.
• Safety & Environmental Compliance: wear PPE (respirators, safety glasses, boots, suits); handle powder safely; follow protocols for hazardous pre-treatment chemicals and high-heat ovens.
