Job summary

Wabtec is seeking a Paint Technician to ensure all spray painting tasks are performed accurately on steel or aluminum lines. The role requires an AA or equivalent and 2–5 years of powder coat painting experience.

You will read blueprints, follow safety and quality procedures, and support production in a fast-paced shop. You may train others in hanging, masking and spray gun operation, and you will assist in maintaining inventory and Kanban boards to meet start, due, and ship dates.

Qualifications

• AA or equivalent required.
• 2–5 years of powder coat painting experience.
• Ability to read blueprints, BOMs, and related docs.

Responsibilities

• Perform powder coat painting checks: oven temps, cleaning solution, color matches, film thickness, scratch tests.
• Verify first piece run conformance and follow PSS instructions.
• Train others on hanging parts, masking, spray gun setup, and painting on steel or aluminum lines.
• Maintain inventory, prepare move tickets, and update Kanban boards to meet schedules.
• Read blueprints and other technical docs to ensure quality and throughput.
