Job summary

Tyson Foods in Forest, MS is seeking a field-focused technician to provide technical assistance to producers caring for the company's birds. You will advise on housing, litter, sanitation, and manage farm operations to ensure bird comfort and health.

Travel up to 5 trips per year; a bachelor's in agriculture and 1+ year poultry experience are preferred. Strong communication and basic computer skills are required as you coordinate with Hatchery, Feedmill, and Livehaul to optimize flock quality

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in agricultural field or equivalent experience.
1+ years’ experience in a poultry or agriculture-related field.
Proficiency in basic computer skills and data entry.

Responsibilities

Advise producers on building and equipment specifications, litter manipulation, and farm sanitation.
Visit farms to document bird comfort, monitor health, and adjust settings.
Monitor feed consumption and order as necessary.
Coordinate chick placements to farms and assist with catch schedules.
Ensure communication among Hatchery, Feedmill, and Livehaul regarding contract farms.
Ensure compliance with USDA and other regulations to optimize flock quality and costs.
