Job summary

Wayne Farms is seeking a Product Development Technologist to assist the Food Concept & Development Manager in creating new poultry-derived products and commercialization, ensuring regulatory compliance.

The role involves coordinating with internal teams, documenting processes, and supporting project data management, with emphasis on quality and timely delivery in a fast-paced food production environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Food Science from an accredited institution.
• Minimum 1 year of related experience in food product development; poultry industry preferred.
• Strong knowledge of technical processes and statistics.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.
• Customer-centric attitude with ability to work cross-functionally.

Responsibilities

• Participate in product development projects including benchtop prototypes and documentation management.
• Develop and improve the project summary process and review unusual processes with relevant personnel.
• Assist in commercialization ensuring compliance with internal guidelines and external regulations.
• Perform data entry/modification for commercialization in Optiva and related systems, including formula finalization and supplier/doc documentation.
• Coordinate plant scale-up activities with Scheduling, Operations, QA, and R&D project managers.
