Job summary

Select Genetics seeks a Service Technician to support safe, efficient daily farm operations across multiple sites. The role emphasizes teamwork, independent work, and strong communication to ensure biosecurity and animal welfare are upheld.

The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma (college degree preferred), clean driving record, and the ability to lift and move supplies. Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus. This is a full-time on-site position in North Carolina.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• College degree in a related field preferred.
• Must not own backyard poultry or work around poultry, fowl, or swine operations off duty.
• Knowledge of or experience with animal husbandry and welfare preferred.
• Valid North Carolina driver’s license with an excellent driving record.
• Bilingual English and Spanish skills are a plus (deal breaker).

Responsibilities

• Carry out the Breeder Manager’s directives.
• Manage time effectively.
• Protect Select Genetics assets assigned to this position.
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
• Work a flexible schedule, including some weekends.
• Run and review activity reports to evaluate progress toward objectives.
• Follow and enforce all company requirements for biosecurity, animal welfare, and safety.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the direct supervisor.
• Lead, train, motivate, and mentor farm employees and managers to build a high-performing team.
