Job summary

Versova is seeking a Flock Specialist I to support barn operations and ensure health and welfare of poultry across our Iowa facilities. This role performs unskilled and semi-skilled tasks under established routines, adhering to USDA/FDA/OSHA standards and company policies.

You will maintain equipment, monitor ventilation, record flock data, and assist with routine maintenance. The position requires physical stamina, ability to lift, work nights/weekends/holidays, and effective communication with

Qualifications

• 0-2 years of general work experience.
• Must be able to lift 50 lbs., reach, bend, twist, and lift above the head.
• Must be agile and able to work in various climate conditions.
• Any equivalent combination of training and experience will be considered.
• Ability to work overtime, weekends and holiday hours as required based on production demand.

Responsibilities

• Maintain barns and poultry health following established routines.
• Follow USDA, FDA, and other federal/state/local procedures.
• Check and maintain feeders, waterers, and poultry care equipment.
• Clean poultry houses, pens, feeders, water devices, and egg transfers.
• Keep records on poultry mortality, feeding, and flock information.
• Walk rows to fix egg jams and replace burnt-out light bulbs.
• Remove dead birds from cages and assist with blitz traps.
• Clean water and feed areas at the front and back of barns.
• Maintain proper lighting and ventilation for poultry.
• Catch loose birds and ensure equipment and facilities are well-maintained.
