Job summary

Versova is seeking a Pullet Specialist I to ensure the health and welfare of pullets from day-old chicks to 16 weeks. The role includes ethical treatment, managing barn facilities, and maintaining production records.

You will perform mortality checks, vaccination administration, and environmental inspections in a barn setting, with potential night and weekend shifts. The position requires physical work, adaptability to farm conditions, and collaboration with management to uphold safety,

Qualifications

• 0–2 years of general work experience required.
• Understanding of pullet care and ethical livestock treatment.
• Ability to perform physical tasks including lifting up to 50 lbs.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Flexibility to work nights, weekends and holidays as needed.
• Ability to work in various climate conditions.
• Overtime, weekends and holidays may be required based on production demand.

Responsibilities

• Ensure ethical treatment and care of pullets according to industry standards.
• Perform daily mortality checks and removals from cages.
• Maintain cleanliness of water and feed areas in barns.
• Conduct regular barn maintenance and light bulb replacement.
• Monitor and maintain daily feed and water levels.
• Collaborate with management to review production records.
• Assist with pest control initiatives.
• Administer vaccinations and monitor pullet health.
• Perform general maintenance of pullet houses and systems.
• Conduct environmental inspections and report issues.
