Job summary

The Salvation Army Omaha Kroc Center is seeking a Pottery Instructor to teach pottery classes, develop curricula, and assess student progress within our community arts program.

You will collaborate with schools and community organizations, maintain safety and tool care, and contribute to recruiting outreach for arts programming; a background in Fine Arts and teaching experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Fine Arts preferred or equivalent qualified experience.
• Two years teaching experience required; five years preferred.
• Evidence of portfolio shown.
• Evidence of experience in curriculum development.

Responsibilities

• Teach pottery classes, including prep work and cleanup.
• Run the kiln and return finished pieces to participants promptly.
• Design curriculum, rubrics, and lesson plans; provide activity summaries to the Kroc Camp, Arts, and Education Manager.
• Develop partnerships with schools and organizations for pottery programming.
• Participate in recruitment and outreach efforts for the Fine Arts Coordinator.
• Instruct in proper care and use of tools and equipment.
• Attend assigned staff meetings.
• Willing to teach additional classes and workshops as needed.
