Job summary

The Salvation Army’s Ray and Joan Kroc Corps Community Center in Omaha, NE seeks a Pottery Instructor to teach pottery classes, develop curriculum and assessments, and build community partnerships that inspire artistic growth in participants of all ages.

The ideal candidate will hold a Bachelor of Fine Arts or equivalent experience, have two years of teaching experience, a portfolio, and curriculum development expertise. Background checks and a valid driver's license are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Fine Arts or equivalent experience.
• Two years teaching experience required; five years preferred.
• Evidence of portfolio and curriculum development experience.

Responsibilities

• Teach pottery classes with prep and cleanup.
• Operate kiln and return finished pieces to participants on time.
• Design and implement curriculum, rubrics, and lesson plans with recordkeeping for the Arts Manager.
• Develop community partnerships for pottery programming with schools and organizations.
• Participate in outreach efforts led by the Fine Arts Coordinator.
• Instruct on proper care and use of tools and equipment.
• Attend staff meetings and teach additional classes as needed.
