Job summary

PepsiCo is seeking a motivated breeding technician for our Rhinelander, WI facility. The role focuses on breeding activities across potatoes and oat, with potential expansion to other crops, in greenhouse, growth rooms, and field environments.

You will work with breeders and technicians to propagate, cultivate, and evaluate breeding materials, maintain records in PepsiCo digital systems, and support field phenotyping and seed management. A BS in related horticulture or agriculture is preferred.

Qualifications

• BS required or preferred in Horticulture, Plant Science, Crop Science, or related field.
• Experience in active breeding/genetics programs, greenhouse, plant production, or horticulture preferred.

Responsibilities

• Work with breeders, assistants, and technicians in greenhouses and growth rooms.
• Support propagation, seeding, transplanting, and tuber handling activities.
• Maintain growth areas, media, irrigation, and environmental controls for optimal crops.
• Monitor plant health and address crop issues related to pests, diseases, or abiotic stress.
• Assist with crossing, pollination, seed extraction, tissue collection, and harvest activities.
