Job summary

Augusta Technical College in Georgia is seeking a Welding and Joining Technology Instructor to lead all aspects of instruction for the program, including developing course materials and supervising student learning in the welding lab.

Qualifications

• A diploma in Welding and Joining Technology or a closely related field from a regionally accredited institution.
• Preferred: an associate degree in welding and joining technology with at least three years of full-time work experience in the field.
• Must possess effective communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop/update instructor guides for each course, including outlines, lesson plans, information sheets, and evaluation instruments.
• Develop/update a syllabus for each course, including objectives, textbooks, tools, and assessment procedures.
• Develop lesson plans with objectives, materials, and evaluation methods.
• Establish a learning environment by maintaining safety procedures and clean lab spaces.
• Prepare for class by updating materials, ordering supplies, and using varied instructional modalities.
• Maintain current, well-organized course content aligned to objectives and student needs.
• Participate in advisory committee meetings and document progress toward program goals.
• Maintain knowledge of program standards and industry trends to inform curriculum.
