Qualifications

  • PhD in biology, biochemistry, biophysics, pharmacology, molecular biology, genetics, neuroscience, vision science, biomedical engineering, or related field.
  • Strong foundation in experimental design, data analysis, and scientific communication.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct independent laboratory research using molecular cloning, cell culture, transfection, CRISPR, flow cytometry, and biochemical assays.
  • Perform animal studies with mouse models, tissue collection, ocular imaging, and histologic/molecular analyses.
  • Design and optimize experiments, develop protocols, and troubleshoot challenges.
  • Maintain accurate laboratory records and ensure data quality and reproducibility.
  • Present progress at lab meetings and seminars; prepare figures and manuscripts for publication.
  • Write fellowship, grant, and other funding applications.
  • Mentor junior researchers and contribute to a collaborative lab environment.
