You will receive mentorship in experimental design, grant writing, and scientific communication, while developing independent research projects and preparing for an academic career.

Qualifications

  • PhD in biology, biochemistry, biophysics, pharmacology, molecular biology, genetics, neuroscience, vision science, biomedical engineering, or related field required.
  • Strong experimental design and data analysis skills are essential.
  • Excellent written and oral communication abilities; track record of scientific publication preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct independent laboratory research using molecular cloning, cell culture, CRISPR-based genome engineering, and biochemical assays.
  • Perform mouse model studies, tissue collection, ocular imaging, and histologic analyses.
  • Design rigorous experiments and optimize protocols; troubleshoot independently.
  • Maintain accurate lab records and ensure data quality and reproducibility.
  • Present progress at lab meetings and seminars; prepare figures and manuscripts for publication.
